What We Do

In order to set up KWDSG as a charity, we have had many hoops to jump through and the trustee's have worked hard at ensuring that we meet all the requirements. This has meant that we have had to write a Child and Vulnerable Adult protection policy, have CRB checks and agree many other polices.

Now that this has been achieved we are all keen to focus on fundraising, social events, training and specific projects that benefit our children and young adults with Down Syndrome.

We meet every 2 months for Trustee meetings and have started to organise sub-groups to cover 4 main areas.

These are:-

Education and Health

Speech and Language Therapy

Social/Leisure

Fundraising and Events

We are always looking for extra support, knowledge and skills to aid with these groups, so if you are willing and have some spare time, please come and join us. If you feel able to support us in any way, please let us know…it maybe you have a contact in a firm that may sponsor us, you may have a skill in design or publicity or have great organisational skills. Any time, ideas or requests would be greatly received via email, post or phone.

  • To provide support and exchange information through - conferences, workshops, social events, group meetings and local sub-support groups and this website.
